Voici la description faite par son propriétaire de longue date:

My 356 is not concours but is what local 356 experts call a very strong driver plus. The photos show the car as more lemony than it is. It is the classic creamy yellow known as champagne yellow.

It’s a numbers-matching 356. I have the C of A. It was originally a Euro version, brought back to California by a GI. It wore California black plates until I bought it.

It was restored in 1990, including a full engine rebuild with a big bore kit. Tim Berardelli, who has helped me care for the engine, says it is a very strong, very healthy SC engine. It shows 55 k miles on the speedometer, as I recall, but I don’t know if that’s mileage since its restoration.

Tim just did a leakdown, compression tests and oil pressure tests, and the engine came through brilliantly (I have the test results). It drives beautifully, is very tight and is quite quick.

Everything works on the car, including the original clock (although in winter the clock works more haphazardly) and the Becker Europa radio, which I installed. I also replaced the original wheel with a MotoLita wood one. The car has no heater. The previous owner told me the heater parts were lost at the time of restoration.

The paint has a few very small chips – the car is driven regularly! – but overall it still shines beautifully and gets great reviews at local 356 events and classic car shows.

It’s amazing that the paint is nearly 20 years old because it looks three or four years old, if that.

The interior is fawn leatherette with corduroy inserts. It is in excellent condition.
